Volunteer Opportunities

Libraries have long relied upon the talents, skills, and knowledge of their volunteers to help connect people and help build a stronger, more diverse community. As a library volunteer you will have many opportunities to enrich your life while also giving back to the community.

The Plainfield-Guilford Township Public Library is looking for people willing to donate just a few hours on an ongoing basis. Library volunteers help with outreach in the community, labeling Accelerated Reader books, making Ellison die cut-outs, sorting books, shelf reading, and keeping bookshelves orderly and clean. There is no age limit to be a volunteer. The library welcomes volunteers of all ages. The library does not accept volunteers through any court-ordered or diversion program.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please either download a volunteer application and background check form, or you may pick up a Volunteer Packet at any of the library’s public service desks. Please return all completed forms to the library’s Circulation desk, or email them to Joanna Carter at jcarter@plainfieldlibrary.net.
