The Children’s Room

yarn beard gnomes 2

It looks like Jerome, the library gnome, has moved on somewhere else… Instead, stop by the project table and make a gnome. Color him however you like, glue on a nice yard beard, and think of a good name. We will hang it up on our art wall, or you can take it home to hand up or even send to someone in the mail. What a surprise that would be, to get a gnome in the mail!

plate left at self check

Left at the self-check! It looks like someone almost took this tasty-looking (but plastic) food with them. This was on the table next to the self-check. We imagine an adult saying, “No, wait, you can’t check that out!” Have your kids been here to play with the kitchen yet?

Gnome GeromeThis is Jerome, the library gnome. He has been hiding around the Children’s Room this summer as part of the ‘Dig Into Reading’ theme. Kids who find Jerome tell a library staffer, then get a prize from the treasure chest. A lot of kids have found Jerome, even though he moves around every day. Some kids look for Jerome before they do everything else, so Jerome has agreed to keep up the game until the end of August. Come see if you can find him!

Activities  The Children’s Room offers all kinds of activities and programs for children from birth through 5th grade. Go to E*vents for complete information about upcoming programs. If a program is full, you can pick up an ‘I’m next’ number at the desk to take the place of no-shows. If your child is signed up for an activity but won’t be able to attend, please call 838-3801 to cancel in case the program is at capacity with a waiting list.
